About Singers Company

Singers Company provides a non-competitive opportunity for girls to perform, a fun way to inspire confidence, make friends and share joy through music & dance.

With practice once a week and 2-3 performances at the end of each Singers Company season, these young girls develop talents and skills that last a lifetime. It is inspiring to see a young girl, once afraid to leave her mother’s side, get up in front a large audience and sing a solo with confidence.

Groups are popping up in cities across the U.S. Become a director and start a group, or join a Singers Company near you!

History of Singers Company

My name is Katie Parker and I founded Singers Company after a lifetime of experience as both a student and teacher of music and dance. While growing up in the small town of Merced, California, my mother, Kathy Callister, started a girls’ performing group so my sisters and I could experience the joys of learning to sing, dance, and perform. She also had an older sister, Cheryl Fogg, who demonstrated this same opportunity for her daughters and their friends in Fresno, CA.

As a teenager, I was required to prepare for and fund the tuition portion of my future college education. Because of my interest and experience in music and dance and my reluctance to give up my vacation for a “summer job,” my mother suggested I start my own performing group for little girls. I realized it could be the perfect way to earn extra money while remaining focused on my studies and other responsibilities. So I started Singer’s Company in 1994 and have never stopped. Whatever city I have lived in, I have started and directed Singers Company.

Along the way, I gained knowledge and created tools that empower young girls and help strengthen their confidence through music and dance. I love these young girls and the energy for life they have. We sing, we dance, we laugh – they bring such joy to my life and our community. There is so much good that comes from these groups that I felt it was time to share it and make a difference in this world! I am married and have five children, two of which are girls that participate in my own Singers Company.

Behind The Scenes

There are many faces and hands working behind the scenes to create the magic of Singers Company! Katie Parker, the founder and CEO, oversees the vision and execution of the many different pieces that keep our mission intact and things running smoothly. She is directly behind the creation of each lesson plan, training video, costume design/manufacturing and oversees all of the moving parts listed below.

When it comes to running Singers Company, all of the time and energy given will ALWAYS be for these amazing directors and darling incredible girls. Everything we do for our directors and the program is to help strengthen the young girls of America. They are the future and we believe our future looks beautiful and so very bright!

Carrie Damitz Executive Officer

Carrie joined the Singers Company team in October 2013 and has watched it grow from several directors to over seventy now! She provides support to all of our directors with costuming, business advice, technology and keeps everything behind the scenes in order. She feels so fortunate to work with all these amazing and inspiring directors!

Carrie (big time introvert) first learned about Singers Company when her six year old (big time extrovert) daughter was looking for a place she could shine. They found all that and more in Singers Company. Her daughter participated all through elementary school, but wasn’t done yet, so she became Katie Parker’s assistant in middle school. When she outgrew that, she purchased her own franchise and became a director in high school.

Carrie has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and has taught kindergarten, first grade and third grade, as well as a stint as a middle school foreign language teacher. She aspires to get her Master’s degree in Art History some day. She enjoys painting, yoga, ballet, reading, traveling and spending time at the beach near her home in Carlsbad, CA. She speaks fluent Italian and dreams of one day owning a villa in Tuscany with lots of goats and chickens. She has been married to David for 26 years and has three children: Emma, now in college and still singing, Owen who is serving a church mission in Texas (and eventually Peru), and Griffin, an avid golfer and freshman in high school.

In 2013, she began overseeing the packaging of Singers Company costumes. She has an undeniable need to organize everything and is very meticulous, so this role is a perfect fit! Recently, Danielle has taken on the role of Product Manager, overseeing not only the costumes, but the distribution of all of the additional products ordered by Singers Company directors and families.

Danielle received her bachelor’s degree at CSULB in Health Science and married her high school sweetheart, Ryan, in 1992. They have four children: Mackenzie, a junior at BYU-I; Madalyn, who is currently serving a church mission in Portugal; Trevor, a freshman in high school; and Meredith, a seventh grader. I grew up in Utah. I have always loved working with kids. I have been a substitute teacher for the last 12 years.

I am a mom of three fantastic kids! In 2004 we moved to Texas. After 18 years of living, and loving Texas, we got to come back home! We recently moved to Farmington, and we are so glad to be here.

My family and I love the outdoors. So Utah is a great place to be! I love to travel, snow ski, go boating, hiking, do crafts, dance, and sing!

Music and performing has always been part of my life! At three years old I was performing “Suzy Snowflake”! I have been singing and dancing ever since. I am so grateful for what music performance did for me as a young person, and I love sharing that joy and happiness with others.

I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in child development. I have always loved working with kids.

Seven years ago I started my Singers Company journey! For seven years I have seen girls lives changed, friendships built, confidence gained, and girls empowered!! I love being with these young people and watching them succeed and SHINE!!

I was born in Provo, Utah. I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico as well as Sandy, Utah. I now call Kaysville home. I absolutely love it here!

I am married to the most amazing guy! We have four beautiful children, two girls and two boys.

I love to sing! I love to sing with my kids, in the car, with my sisters, with my friends, with anyone! Singing has always made me happy. I have been in many different choirs, from my elementary school days, into junior high, high school, and college. I love ice cream. A lot! Especially ice cream with chocolate and peanut butter in it. Yum! I love to doodle, write in cursive, color, exercise, watch the sun rise, go for hikes in the mountains, take pictures, make cinnamon rolls, mow the lawn, watch movies with my family, dance with my kids, and laugh with family and friends. I enjoy being involved in the community, at the school and in my church community. Being a mom is my #1 job, but I've also had the great opportunity to teach 4th grade, teach music in an elementary school, and teach preschool. I love teaching children!!

I graduated from Utah State University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.

I absolutely love Singers Company and how it teaches our beautiful girls to shine, both inside and out! I truly believe that every girl is important, beautiful, and unique. My own daughter has been a part of Singers Company for several years. I have seen her grow in so many ways from this wonderful program. The confidence it has instilled in her will be a strength for the rest of her life! Singers Company is such a positive and unique program that instills happiness and confidence in our girls in a non-competitive way, and I just love that so much! I truly believe that our little girls can change the world through their influence for good!

Kathy Tonas’s headshot
Kathy Tonas Franchise Sales Manager

I started with Singers Company in January of 2012 within the first year of franchising. Having a love of singing, dancing, and performing my whole life made Singers Company an amazing opportunity and blessing in my life. Being a role model and making a difference in the lives of young girls is absolutely a priceless experience! One of my favorite parts was having my daughter be a Singers Company girl; and when she aged out she became my assistant! I ran two groups in Roseville California for many years then sold my franchise. Because of my love of Singers Company and their mission, I continued on with corporate. I love getting to share the franchise opportunity with others, as well as helping prepare new directors for success!

Angee Duvall’s headshot

I grew up all over the country as an Air Force brat! I loved my childhood! My parents made every move an adventure, and we got to see and experience so much culture through the years.

I am the oldest (and only girl) of four children. I met and married the love of my life in college. He has the biggest heart of anyone I know and makes me laugh every day of my life. We have three children—2 boys with a girl sandwiched in the middle—and a goldendoodle.

I love outdoor activities, music, baking, reading, traveling, crafting, playing games, and spending as much time as I can with my family! We love to make even the mundane an adventure!

I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and have taught school officially for over 10 years. I volunteer weekly in my children’s classrooms and teach children weekly through my church group, as well as teaching these sweet girls in Singers Company. I also train teachers become better at what they already do. I just can’t get away from it; teaching is in my heart and soul!

I fell in love with Singers Company when my own little girl joined years ago. She’s on the quieter side, and I watched her confidence grow through being in this group. I was amazed when she stood up at that first performance and sang with confidence. The pride on her face afterwards made my heart swell. As I’ve directed my group through the years, I have seen this happen to many girls: Girls who won’t even look me in the eye during the first couple of practices, stand in June and sing a solo in front of a crowd of 200 people and don’t even bat an eye at it. It’s pretty incredible to watch!

We live in a world where girls are constantly being told they’re not good enough. They’re not skinny enough. They’re not pretty enough. They’re not talented enough. Our girls ARE beautiful. They ARE special. They ARE good enough. Just the way they are! Singers Company helps these girls develop confidence in their own beauty and in their own talents. As a Singers Company director, I hope to instill a confidence that will last a lifetime because they are amazing; and confident girls turn into confident women, who can make a huge difference in this world!

I love getting to work with girls and help them discover how unique and wonderful they all are! It is so rewarding! I also love running the social media accounts because I feel like I get to be a cheerleader for all of the amazing directors and Singers Company girls we have throughout the country! It’s so fun to get to share and celebrate what they all are doing and the difference they are making in this world!

Singers Company provides a fun environment for young girls to sing, dance, make friends and rock out. There is so much good that comes from these groups, it is time to share it with the world!
